A few days ago, I finally upgraded to Jaws 11. I like it for the most part, but have come across some annoying things that have to do with forms mode. The first one, and probably the most frustrating, is that when I go into the forms list and hit enter on the choice I want, it no longer activates the button. If I'm using IE, it will at least leave the cursor on the button, but in Firefox it's very unpredictable. Sometimes it stays on the button, but more often than not it will jump to, say, the top of the list of messages in my Gmail inbox instead of the delete button if that's what I wanted. The second problem is sluggish performance on sites that have a lot of links and/or forms. Again, this problem seems to be worse in Firefox, sometimes I'll be tabbing through combo boxes and Jaws will stop speaking, and even kicks me out of the window and goes into another one that's restored, for example an IM conversation. The last problem, and this one is really only a minor annoyance, is when I go into links list, it makes the sound like it's in forms mode. I'm running Windows xp, which could possibly be the problem as I know this version of Jaws was made for newer operating systems, but if there's any way I can fix these issues, especially the first two, I would really appreciate some help. I've gone into configuration manager and looked at the forms mode options, but didn't see anything in there that might have anything to do with the problems I'm experiencing.
if you aint satisfied with automatic forms mode on, you can disable it from the configuration manager's preferences though. or, for temporary, you can go with insert v options.

Wow. I've never had any of these issues. Having said that, I've had issues that other people have never heard of, such as the screen not updating automatically on webpages like it's supposed to.
Well, actually, now that I think about it, I have had the button issue you speak of, where when you exit an edit field, it jumps to the button at the top of the page, and not the button right below the edit field. The crappy thing is that for some reason, it writes dollar signs and punctuation marks in the edit field I was just typing instead of letters and numbers. Restarting JAWS always fixes the problem, but it is annoying.
I've also had the problem where it would not update the screen. Not that annoying, it does it all the time when I'm reading cracked articles.
Hitting Insert Escape will fix that, so at least you don't have to restart JAWS.
I have seen the screen not updated correctly inside a form, but I have fixed it with insert+escape. Can't comment on the other problems, though.
insert escape is screen refresh. sometimes, that helps me to read the edit field.

just a little problem, when jaws goes in to forms mode and i try and copy some thing, some times it doesn't copy it and when it is in forms mode, and i hit backspace to get rid of letters, it goes back to the previous site which it isn't spose to do! if any one can frow any light on this, it would be much appreciated
